For years a Giving Tree has been erected during the holiday season at Elizabethtown College to encourage charitable donations from members of the campus community.
According to Lynda Hudzick, office manager of Dining Services, the tradition began in 2007 when DS first purchased the tree frame and decorated it with poinsettias. In following years, the frame has been filled with donations for selected local charities. Past causes include infant clothing, service dogs, the YWCA, and clothes for foster children.
