78aa Katsura Jpg
Wheatland (Tanger Arboretum), 1120 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster PA (in front of Wheatland)

With a trunk circumference of 15-16 feet, this is possibly the largest Katsura in the county (another specimen, somewhat smaller but still large, is elsewhere at Tanger; and still another large Katsura is at Masonic Village).

This amazing species, a native of Ja- pan and China, has leaves that smell like brown sugar or cotton candy in autumn.
