Measured at 128 feet in 2007 (Champion Trees of Pennsylvania, pabigtrees. com), this is the tallest white pine in central Pennsylvania. It had a trunk circumference of 151 inches in 2007.
This amazing species is the tallest tree in Eastern Northern America… even taller than the Tulip Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera). Living White Pines can approach 190 feet but the tallest in colonial times reportedly reached 230 feet.
