Pinus strobus
Eastern White Pine
2121B Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz Pa
Randy Ross
Measured at 128 feet in 2007 (Champ- ion Trees of Pennsylvania, pabigtrees. com), this is the tallest white pine in central Pennsylvania. It had a trunk circumference of 151 inches in 2007.
This amazing species is the tallest tree in Eastern Northern America… even taller than the Tulip Poplar (Lirioden- dron tulipifera). Living White Pines can approach 190 feet but the tallest in colonial times reportedly reached 230 feet.
