Conestoga House and Gardens
1608 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster PA
David Kantner, Larry Wettig
These gardens include wonderful ex- amples of: (1) bonsai and other con- tainer trees; (2) rare forms (espalier, pollard, self-grafting, witch's broom); and (3) significant full-size trees.
The latter include an excellent Cotton- wood (Populus deltoides); Bald Cy- press with knees (Taxodium distichum); probably Pennsylvania's champion Golden Rain Tree (Koereuteria pani- culata); the rare Seven-Son Flower Tree (Heptacodium miconioides); and most spectacularly, Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia spp.). See separate en-tries for each of these and more.
The gardens are open to the public on a limited basis, as noted on CH&G's website.
